People will do some pretty wacky things for the person they love. They’ll spend all their savings, they’ll move halfway around the world and they’ll give up their closest friends, but where do we draw the line. How much is too much? Some people will do anything for love, but there are certainly a few things they shouldn’t.
Plastic Surgery
Keeping your lover interested can be a difficult task for some. There will always be someone who is more attractive or more successful out there. This pressure causes some people to resort to absurd, drastic measures like going under the knife to keep their lover happy. The rate of tummy tucks, lip injections and liposuctions have gone up dramatically over the past five years, but this is one thing that you should never do for love.
Dumping Your Friends
Being in love can monopolize a large portion of someone’s life, especially during the infatuation stage. This can leave little room for anyone else, especially friends. This is never good. Friends don’t like feeling neglected and should you and your lover breakup, who will you turn to for support? Real friends may let you back in, but it’s going to involve a lot of humble apologies from your end.
Compromise Your Morals
Just because the person you’re dating chain smokes and drinks buckets of whiskey on bar stools every night doesn’t mean you have to and frankly, if this goes against your personal beliefs you probably shouldn’t be dating this person. Compromising your morals or ideals for another person will inevitably make you feel like a complete hypocrite, especially when the relationship crashes and burns a few months down the road.
