Commentary: Don’t EVER listen to dating advice from your mom. Go get a dating advice book. I repeat, don’t ever listen to dating advice from your mom. Follow this rule blindly no matter what anybody tells you. Here’s why…

The problem with dating women advice is that moms just don’t remember what it’s like. They have forgotten about what caused attraction for them in the first place. The butterflies they felt in their stomach for some men are a fleeting memory.

Then on top of that, they give their dating women advice to their sons that they think is supposed to attract girls, but in reality it does just the opposite. They do this because they themselves don’t understand what attracted them in the first place.

The dating women advice goes something like this, “just be nice”, “be yourself”, “buy her flowers and talk to her”. Then after their son is miserably shot down it goes something like “You’re such a great guy, some lucky girl will find you.”

I’m sorry mom, but I’m about to throw up.

This doesn’t work; there is nothing about being “nice” that causes attraction when dating women. But for some reason that’s what 99% of men were taught by their moms or parents and that’s what most of the movies out there tell men to do which just reinforces this nonsense about how to attract and date women.

The problem is, when men get shot down, they have no idea what happened, because it’s supposed to work just like they were told.

So what should they do instead of following the lame advice they’ve been spoon fed for years? Simply find out what works, learn how to do it, and reap the benefits. Just like anything else.

Something that works, and what 99% of men don’t do when dating women is a little bit of cocky mixed with a little bit of humour. This shows confidence, and most of all its different! For example if a beautiful lady is wearing open toed shoes, you could say something like “Nice shoes, but aren’t your toes a little chilli? I’d stay away from the salvation army if you want nice shoes”.

This may sound rude, but it’s actually quite playful. See a beautiful lady knows her shoes are quite nice and she doesn’t need some girly man telling her that she has nice shoes. However when you throw something like that out, it catches her way off guard and at the same time pushes an attraction button, which is what dating women is all about, creating attraction.
