Being a single-and-ready-to-mingle lady, you should know some do’s and don’ts of dating even if you have dated before. There may be some trends going on right now, but normally the basics of dating are still the same. Unless you’re dating a younger guy, it is better to check on some info before you go out on a date with him. But if you’re dating a guy your age, the stress and anxiety of making major adjustments is almost always non-existent in this case.
So what do you do before you go out on a date with an eligible guy who’s been getting-in-touch with you?
There are many things that you can do to help ease your worries. Those nerves have to be tamed even before you leave your home, so it’s best to calm down and drink some water. You need to have a clear state of mind in order for you to enjoy the date rather than worry.
Since you are getting more acquainted with someone on a date, you need to think of things or interesting topics to talks about with this guy. If this is your second or third date, you should at least try not to discuss the first date especially when there were blunders and awkward moments. The fact that you are seeing him again is a sign that you are an interesting person in his eyes, so keep that up and be a fun date rather than a nervous one.
You can even choose your dress a day or two before the date. You might think it’s quite early to do this, but it can surely help you cut the time from stammering and looking for the right clothes. If you are given information of where your date will take you to, preparing ahead can spare you from being over or under-dressed.
While at home, you can listen to soothing music while preparing on the day itself. When you are showering, you can sing along with the music to calm your nerves or hmm. Most women shower with warm water since it’s soothing to the skin and to the senses. You can even use aromatics such as scented candles or bath products that are made to calm the senses.
Some women sip some wine to calm their nerves, but actually it is not a very good idea even though it can help. Coffee might not be a good idea either since caffeine can cause palpitations to some. Drink water or juice while you prepare and keep the music going.
Beautifying yourself is also part of the preparation. Being primp and pretty on a date is an extra giveaway to your date and to yourself too. Looking confident and well-groomed are important factors that can make you more attractive to him. Don’t overdo on the makeup especially if your date likes it casual and simple. And of course, wear a scent that will remind him of you. A warm floral and fruity scent is quite homey and inviting to the senses and this can help remind your date that you are a warm person who loves his company.
And lastly, don’t be too serious to the point of stiffness because your date can become bored. Keep the fun and relaxed attitude because these can exude confidence that most guys truly admire.
